The PCI bus card for control purposes OPTOIO-PCI32EXTENDED offers 32 digital inputs and 32 digital outputs with galvanic isolation for each individual channel, via high-quality optocouplers, which are additionally protected against harmful voltage peaks and pulses by protective diodes. All input optocouplers are equipped with an integrated Schmitt trigger function. Special, powerful output optocouplers can handle a switching current of up to 150 mA. Two different input voltage ranges can be set using easily exchangeable, pluggable resistor arrays. Interrupts can be triggered by eight of the 32 optocoupler inputs or, depending on the time, by a timer / counter component (8254, 82C54, 71054) combined with a quartz oscillator.For other control tasks there are 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs, which are TTL compatible, on the card. The signals from the output optocoupler are present at the 68-pin SCSI-II socket, which is mounted on the slot bracket of the board. The connections of the input optocoupler as well as the TTL inputs and TTL outputs can be tapped at two further SCSI-II sockets placed on the board.
