The PCI bus interface card for control technology WITIO-PCI168EXTENDED offers 168 digital input / output channels that are TTL compatible. This card is suitable for input and output applications that do not require galvanic isolation. The 168 input / output channels are in groups of eight channels each; every third port can also be programmed as inputs or outputs in two groups of four channels each. The hardware implementation of the inputs / outputs was carried out using the widely used 8255 modules (82C55, 71055). The internal data bus of this card is organized as 8 bits, each read or write access to the inputs and outputs is done in byte. Time-dependent interrupts can be triggered by a counter module combined with a quartz oscillator.A 37-pin D-Sub socket on the slot bracket of the board, to which 24 input / output channels and the connections of the timer are fed, and three 50-pin post plugs with 48 channels each enable the connection of the peripherals. The plug assignments of all connectors of the WITIO-PCI168EXTENDED are identical to the assignments of the ISA bus card WITIO-168EXTENDED, making it easy to switch to PCI.
