What is TTL?

The term TTL is short for transistor-transistor logic. It is a circuit technology for logic circuits in which bipolar NPN transistors are used as active components. The best-known representatives of this IC series are the LS series with, for example, SN74LS00 etc. The logic family is out of date and has practically no meaning today. Today the term TTL inputs / outputs is used for pure logic inputs / outputs, which normally have no potential separation and at their inputs and outputs certain voltage levels or logic levels are defined for a signal.
