Ethernet - analog inputs and outputs for the Ethernet interface of Messcomp®
What is an analog to digital converter?
The term A / D converter stands for a component for converting analog input signals into a digital data stream that can be processed by the computer. There are different conversion methods, which differ mainly in speed, accuracy and noise immunity. For this reason, different conversion methods are used, for example, for temperature measurement and rapid signal sampling. The A / D converter is the basic requirement in measurement technology so that the computer can process the analog input signals of various sensors.
What is a digital to analog converter?
The term D / A converter stands for a component for converting the digital data of the computer into an analog signal. This analog output signal can then be used, for example, to control a speed controller or other assemblies with a voltage input.
What is a pt100?
Pt100 is a platinum measuring resistor for temperature measurement. The resistance of platinum, which changes due to temperature, is used for temperature measurement. This resistance thermometer with the Pt100 has found widespread use and is standardized in EN 60751. The resistance characteristic is not linear and must therefore be adapted by means of an electronic circuit or software.
Ethernet measurement technology modules with analog inputs and outputs
The EXDUL® Ethernet modules from Messcomp® with up to eight analog inputs and eight analog outputs are ideal for use both in the laboratory and in industrial control. The analog inputs have the input voltage ranges of +/- 0.63 volts up to +/- 10.2 volts and sampling rates up to 100 kHz, which are common in professional control technology. The analog outputs deliver a current of 5 mA with a voltage range of up to +/- 10.2 volts. Usually one or more optocoupler inputs or outputs are available on these Ethernet modules for switching purposes. The EXDUL-592 is a special measuring module for sensors. It has four voltage inputs as well as two current inputs. It also has three inputs for the direct connection of PT100 temperature sensors.
